It was all going well on Saturday 29, January 2022 at the traditional marriage of Cynthia and Felix at Youpwe in the Douala II Subdivision, until around 11 pm when it was time for the bride to be shown to the public and she was nowhere to be found.
Eyewitnesses recount that Cynthia was part of the cooking and preparation ceremony and she was happy for her marriage. But, until Sunday 30, around midday, nobody knew what went wrong. Several search attempts to find Cynthia were futile, the police was aleterd to no avail. Visitors were forced to eat the food that was prepared while the search continued.
Cynthia retuned on Sunday around 1pm, explaining that she was taken away by Bartholomew her former boyfriend to an unknown destination. She said that she was not hurt and the former boyfriend explained that he wanted to prove to Cynthia’s husband that he knew Cynthia and the neighbourhood better. When taken for questioning, Bartholomew said he could not accept the fact that his girl is getting married to another man. He acknowledged that he has been separated with Cynthia for about six months but that he still had hopes that they will fix things because he is still in love
