National Athletics Inter Clubs Championship: FAP In The Lead

The first playing day of the competition took place in Yaounde last weekend.

The Armed Forces and Police men’s and women’s athletics clubs have taken the lead on the national athletics championship table. This is the outcome of the first playing day of the 2022 National Athletics Inter Clubs Championship that took place in Yaounde last weekend. Organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation (FECA ATHLETICS) the competition brought together clubs from across the country. Even though no national records were broken the athletes put up commendable performances in the competition.
In the 100m Esseme Emmanuel Alobwede (CMSP) finished the race in 10”20 which is among the fourth best performances in the world for now. Esseme equally won the 200m event in 20”7. In women’s 100m Nde Maria Thomson (Best Star) was the fastest in 11”82. In the women’s 200m, Kolle Etame (CMSP) won the race in 21”9. In the women’s 10,000m Otomo Mendouga (FAP) was the first in 38’08”7 while in the men’s 10,000m Tchogah Pierre (FAP) was the fastest in 32’44”9.
In the women’s discus throw Tatja Kwamen (FAP) threw a distance of 40.10. In the men’s long jump Yinra Appolinaire (FAP) jumped a distance of 7m47 while in the women’s long jump Kossendra Rey (INJS) jumped a distance of 6.02.
