Keep The Flame Burning

Scars of wounds from the civil war might still be there, but what matters now is the way forward towards a common goal.

It is with this objective in mind that political and civil society stakeholders in Ivory Coast have been meeting in what is now known as “Political Dialogue”. The aim is to earmark dark spots in the political life of the country and seek ways to keep them permanently lighted for the good of the entire nation.  After four fruitful meetings, participants at the closing of the 5th “Political Dialogue”, on Friday March 04, 2022 in Abidjan made another giant step by taking a firm commitment.
In the presence of Prime Minister, Patrick Achi, representative of the government, 21 political parties, groups and 26 civil society organizations, the different stakeholders promised to jointly undertake the promotion and strengthening of social cohesion in the country in a final report that was endorsed for the first time by all the stakeholders in the process. Prior to their signing of the final report, participants at the “Political Dialogue” also made recommendations on how to appease the political environment, national reconciliation and the legal and institutional framework for elections in Côte d'Ivoire.
