PWD Bamenda Standing Tall


PWD Social Club of Bamenda are the winners of the 2021 edition of the Cup of Cameroon. The Abakwa Boys beat Les Astres FC of Douala 1-0 in the final that took place the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yoaunde yesterday March 13, 2022. The victory is a dream come true for PWD Bamenda after staying in the cold for 42 years. The trophy is the first in the history of PWD and the third in the North West Region after Kumbo Strikers in 2003 and Yong sports Academy in 2013. PWD has brought pride to the North West Region and the country at large. The journey to the Cup of Cameroon final was not an easy one for the Abakwa Boys. It all started with round of 32 where they beat Triomphe of Mfou 3-1. 
In the round of 16, PWD outplayed Canon of Yaounde 1-0. They went further to beat Renaissance of Ngoumou 3-1 in the eighth finals. That gave them confidence and hope to continue in the struggle to the top. In the quarterfinals PWD beat Avion Academy 2-0 and then thrashed Union Douala 3-0 in the semifinal to secure a spot in the final.
