South West : Over 250 Women, Youth Receive Free Vocational Training

Constructed and equipped by The Centre for Community Regeneration and Development (CCREAD), the vocational training centre offers courses in agro-food processing and transformation.

As well as tailoring and design, computer studies and secretariat duties, project management and entrepreneurship, amongst others. The ultra-modern centre equipped with modern sewing machines, a sophisticated computer laboratory and training materials was recently inaugurated in Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba Division of South West Region by the Director of CCREAD, Dr Ewang Ngide Hilary prior to the celebrations of the International Women’s Day. As a community base organisation, CCREAD also stood by the women in Bangem to ensure a successful celebration of the 37th edition of the International Women’s Day.
“The over 250 women and youths currently receiving free vocational training from the centre in Bangem range from abandoned single mothers, girls who dropped out of school as a result of hardship, women heads of households who have been affected by crisis and have no viable source of income, unemployed youths and widows living under very difficult social and economic conditions,” Dr Ngide told Cameroon Tribune.
