Boosting Agric. Yields : Tons Of Free Maize Seeds For NW Farmers

The gifts from MIDENO on March 17, 2022 seek to enhance productivity in the region.

From the look of things, production and productivity will be better during the ongoing farming season in the North West region with concerted efforts to enhance yields. The North West Development Authority (MIDENO), was topical on March 17, 2022 with their offer of free farm inputs to give production and productivity a chance in the region. The event in Bamenda featured the distribution of 12 tons of improved maize seeds to some 200 beneficiary farmers. It was a rare moment for the General Manager of MIDENO, Cletus Anye Matoya to stress effective planting with technical supervision by technicians from the Regional Delegation of Agriculture and Rural Development to help matters against threats of food insecurity. He told the farmers that improved seeds constitute a critical factor in production and productivity. The event equally distributed a significant quantity of agricultural chemicals to the farmers.
