U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers : Lionesses Step up Preparations

Ahead of the double confrontation against Zambia, some 25 players are fine-tuning their skills in Yaounde.

The U17 women’s national team will face Zambia in a double confrontation counting for the third round Africa zone qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup in India. The qualifiers have been slated for April. Ahead of the two games, the Coach of the U17 Lionesses, Stéphane Ndzana has invited 25 players who will defend the coulours of Cameroon in the last round qualifiers. On the list are four goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and six attackers. The final list comes up after some players were selected from some local clubs and brought to camp by Coach Stéphane Ndzana for detection at the Omnisports Annex Stadium Number One.

The training camp that began on March 23 will round off today March 30, 2022 with a friendly match against Louves Minproff of Yaounde. The match will take at the Yaounde Omnisports Annex Stadium Number One. The training session aimed a perfecting the skills of the players who are upbeat for the competition. The third round qualifier being a crucial one, the U17 Lionesses are determined to work hard in order to secure a ticket for the World Cup.
