Entrepreneurship, Employment : Contribution of Major Structuring Projects

Members of Parliament, youths and government officials and the entire population since April 5, 2022 know the impact major structuring projects, particularly the Nachtigal Hydro Power project that touches five Divisions in the Centre Region has in creating enterprises and decent employment in the area where the project is carried out.
This knowledge is thanks to the second forum on territorialised entrepreneurship the Network of Parliamentarians for the Promotion of Private Entrepreneurship organised at the National Assembly on the theme, “The impact of major structuring projects on territorialised entrepreneurship and decent employment based on a case study of the Nachtigal Dam.” The major structuring project designates a major development action with national economic interest, which results in a major complex infrastructure project. The cost of the project accounts for at least one per cent of the overall State budget expenditures.
The Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Hilarion Etong who presided at the forum on behalf of the House Speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril appreciated the Network of Parliamentarians for the Promotion of Private Entrepreneurship whose President is Hon. Roger Melingui for the initiative. He said government designed major structuring projects to besides other things boost the creation of employment and they offer great opportunities.
In the exchanges that ensued, various competent officials of the Nachtigal Hydro Power Company that is constructing the dam presented the different phases of the project and the socio-economic and above all entrepreneurship and employment impact to the populations of the vicinity.
