Basketball : Yaounde On Two Int’l Fronts Today

Group B qualifiers of the 2022 Basketball Africa League and the Zone IV Women’s Club Championship begins this October 12, 2022 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.

Basketball lovers in the nation’s political capital, Yaounde will as from today October 12, 2022 have much on their agenda. In effect, the Group B qualifiers of Season 3 of the Basketball Africa League and the Zone IV Women’s Club competition will begin at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. Both competitions are expected to run from October 12-14, 2022.
As for the Zone IV Women’s Club championship, Cameroon is represented by two clubs; Université de Douala (UDLA) and Overdose Up Station Yaounde who are respectively winners of the Basketball Cup of Cameroon and Championship. Instead of the four teams expected in the tournament, only three will participate due to the forfeiture of Makomeno BC of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). CNSS of DRC adds to the two Cameroon clubs to make the three teams taking part in the competition. We gathered that each club will play against each other with one match programmed per day. At the end, the first two teams will clinch qualification in the Women’s FIBA Africa Champions Cup which will take place in December 2022.
