Basic Education : FCFA 254. 232 Billion To Improve Access

The Minister of Basic Education, Laurent Serges Etoundi Ngoa on November 28, 2022 defended the draft budget in the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly.

The Ministry of Basic Education is requesting for a budgetary allocation of FCFA  254 232 390 375 for the 2023 financial year. Broken down, the Ministry intends to use FCFA 234 660 005 375 as the current expenditure and FCFA 19 572 385 as the capital expenditure.
Minister Laurent Serges Etoindi Ngoa in the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly on November 28, 2022 explained that the requested budgetary allocation will enable actions to be carried out under four key programmes. The programmes include: Pre-school Development, Universalization of Primary Education, Literacy and finally Governance and Institutional Support.
Generally, in the primary school level, the programme is intended to address the issues of disparities of access and retention in primary school.
