Japan-Croatia : One Seat, Two Contenders

The encounter at the Al-Janoub Stadium will be highly contested as the two sides will be seeking for the lone ticket in the quarterfinals.

The Samurai Blue of Japan will face Croatia today December 5, 2022 in the quarterfinals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The match will take place at the Al Ja-Janoub Stadium at 4:00 p.m. From all indications, today’s encounter will be highly contested as the two sides will be seeking for the lone ticket in the quarterfinals. Both Japan and Croatia have proven to be strong teams given their performances during the group stage of the competition.
Many believe Croatia, who are seen as favourites in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup are heading for disappointment if they underestimate their opponent. The vice-world champions must watch out for Japan because the Blue Samurai have emerged as the comeback kings of Qatar, and their inspired substitutions have already claimed two huge victims. Japan won their opening game against Germany (2-1) and staged a brilliant repeat performance against Spain to emerge as unlikely winners of Group E. They became only the third team in World Cup history to be losing at half-time and come back to win two matches at the same tournament after Brazil in 1938 and West Germany in 1970. Japan's substitutes had scored both goals against Germany and they played an important role in the competition.
Croatia is on the radar of everyone watching the 2022 World Cup. All eyes are waiti...
