Messi-Mbappe : Battle Of Generations

The battle for the crown, golden boot and golden ball will be played out between the two during Sunday’s final.

The two have dominated the 2022 FIFA World Cup heads and shoulders and when they come face-to-face on Sunday for the final of the tournament, it will be a battle of two generations.  At 35, Lionel Messi is almost at the twilight of his (international) career though his performances do not indicate so. The diminutive forward has already announced Sunday’s final will be his last international match and his team mates are rallying he goes out on a high by winning the trophy. Messi looks like a man on mission since the start of the tournament; five goals and three assists have propelled Argentina within a whisker of lifting their first World Cup trophy for the first time since 1986. The Argentina team is all united to see Messi win the only trophy that is lacking in his illustrious trophy cabinet. The team has been set up to get Messi flourish and his strike partners Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez could all be the key to creating the space for him to operate on Sunday.
