Guinness Super League : Third Edition Begins Jan 14

It was one of the main announcements from the meeting held on Tuesday December 20, 2022 between the Cameroon Female Football League and club representatives.

After much wait, female football lovers in the country are now certain on when the third edition of the Guinness Super League will begin. The Cameroon female first division championship has been billed to kick-off on January 14, 2023. The information was made public after a consultation meeting between the Cameroon Female Football League and club representatives on Tuesday December 20, 2022.
According to sources, the competition will be played in the same format like the last edition. That is: 12 teams, away and return leg. At the end of the playing days, the team with the highest number of points wins the competition and the last two teams are relegated. AS Awa FC was the winner of the second edition and will be doing everything possible to defend the title. While they polish up skills, they will have to cope without the matrons of the team who have been lost to clubs like Lekié FF and Éclair FF. Amongst other transfers, the loss of Kévine Ossol and Ngo Boum to Eclair will be a big blow to the defending champions. Going into the championship without attackers Brenda Tabe and Farida Machia as well as midfield goddess, Melvis Tantoh and goalkeeper Ongmahan, etc, who have all moved to Lekié FF will be another punch to Awa.
