MTN Elite One : Colombe, Bamboutos Uphold Lead

Day nine matches of the national championship took place in stadiums across the country on Saturday December 24, 2022.

Colombe of Dja and Lobo and Bamboutos of Mbouda continue to maintain the lead in groups A and B in the Elite Championship. This is the outcome of the ninth playing day of the national championship that took place in stadiums across the country on Saturday December 24, 2022. After a one month break due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the teams are committed to finish the first phase of the competition in grand style.  A total of 21 goals were scored with four draws registered. The heaviest score was the 4-2 defeat of Fovu of Baham against APEJES of Mfou. 
In Group A, Eding Sport FC beat Djiko of Bandjoun 2-0 at the Yaounde Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium. David Theophane Ndongo scored a brace to help Eding grab the three points of the day. In the second game, Canon Sportif of Yaounde played a 0-0 tie with PWD of Bamenda at the same venue. That was the second draw for PWD Bamenda despite the fact that they are last but one in group A. For Canon Yaounde, it was the second draw in eight outings.    Now 4th on the classification table with 13 points, Canon of Yaounde must be skillful and bounce back on December 27, 2022 during the 10th playing day when they will travel to meet Aigle of Menoua in a venue to be determined. It should be recalled that Aigle of Menoua are improving in their performance since the start of the season.
