Emergency Plan Projects: Completion Deadlines in Ebolowa Assured

The projects in Ebolowa are low cost housing, regional hospital complex and industrial meat cold storage facility.

The projects contained in the Triennial Emergency Plan for the Acceleration of Economic Growth currently being carried out in the South Regional capital, Ebolowa are expected to be completed and handed to government by the end of this 2017 following the commitment and assurances of supervisory ministers and executing companies. Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, chairperson of the supervisory committee of the execution of the emergency plan visited the project sites in Ngalan on February 9, 2017 where he saw for himself the execution rate of the projects and got more details during the restitution working session at the Florence Hotel in Ebolowa. Flanked by some cabinet ministers and in the presence of representatives of the companies executing the projects, Mr Yang said the projects had a good beginning and insisted that they have to be executed within the three-year time frame. Concerning the projects proper, Public Health Minister, Andre Mama Fouda presented that of the Ebolowa Regional Mother and Child Hospital Complex. The construction of the complex executed by Alliance Construction Cameroun costs about FCFA 15 billion. FCFA 9.8 billion is for construction and FCFA 4.5 billion for equipment. The official of the construction company said work started in October 2016 and during the visit to the site on Thursday, February 9, 2017, it was at the foundation level. The official assured that they will work hard to respect the deadline for roofing to be on by June 2017, equipping of the hospital from October 2017 so that the completed project should be handed to government by December 31, 2017.
