Lions’ Den : Intermediate Lions Rekindle Hopes

They beat Sudan 2-0 in their last friendly game that took place in Monastir yesterday, January 9, 2023.

The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have once more assured their fans on their performance in the upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022) in Algeria. The Lions beat Sudan 2-0 in their last friendly game that took place in Monastir yesterday, January 9, 2023. The victory was the first for the Intermediate Lions as the team rounded off preparations in Tunisia. That gave them the long-awaited result and it served as encouragement for the Intermediate Lions team. 
Cameroon dominated the game from the start with a good play style that paid off as the Lions opened scores at the 35th minute through Roche Foning. The Sudanese fought back but were unable to concretise their chances. Half time score was 1-0 in favour of the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon. On resumption, Coach Alioum Saidou lined up a completely different team but maintained the goalkeeper Mbahbi. The team was captained by Youssoupha Houzaifi and at the 69th minute Avom Ebong increased scores for Cameroon. The Lions continued with their onslaught with a strong defence wall warding off any attempts by the Sudanese. The Intermediate Lions held on and carried the day beating Sudan 2-0.
