UNIFFAC Zonal Qualifiers : Yondjo, Djibirin Goals Qualify Cameroon

The U-17 Lions goals came in the second half.

Cameroon will take part in the U-17 AFCON in Algeria in the month of April later this year. The baby Lions beat the Republic of Congo in their second outing in the UNIFFAC Zonal qualifiers match yesterday at the Limbe Omnisports stadium. Cameroon’s goals were scored in the second by Dorinel Yondjo (79th minute) and Harouna Djibirin (95th minute). After an easy win in their first outing four nil against the Central African Republic last Thursday, the players of Coach Jean Pierre Fiala Fiala knew a win will qualify them for the football tournament in their category. Coach Jean Pierre Fiala Fiala practically used the same line up except the entrance of Ndongo Dipanda in the place of Jules Mballa Biloa
Like in their first match, the Lions started their match timidly as they were very wasteful. Dorinel Yondjo, Harouna Djibirin missed clear scoring chances. The Congolese made some incursions in the Cameroonian defence with long balls behind the defence, but the compact Cameroonian defence stopped the actions. At halftime both sides were goalless.
