Group E : Good Start For Intermediate Lions

They beat the Red Devils of Congo 1-0 in their first game at the Olympic Stadium in Oran yesterday January 16, 2023.

The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have begun the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022) on a good footing. They beat the Red Devils of Congo 1-0 in their first outing in group E yesterday January 16, 2023 at the Oran Olympic Stadium.  Many football diehards in Oran thronged the Olympic Stadium to watch the encounter. Prior to the encounter, fans of the Intermediate Lions from the nooks and crannies in Oran were already around the stadium premises waiting for the right time to enter the stadium and cheer their darling team to victory. The encounter which was a Central African Derby was a crowd puller given the potentials of the teams. 
Cameroon began the game well with a good play style but they lost their scoring chances. The Congolese put up a strong resistance but they equally squandered their opportunities. Even though the Cameroonians had the better of the Congolese, they were unable to concretise the many chances before them. At half time, the score line was 0-0. 
On resumption, the Intermediate Lions continued with their onslaught. A head by Junior Kemajou Dibami at the 48th minute almost sent the Lions through but was lost.
