CHAN 2022 : Cameroonian Fans Behind Intermediate Lions

Supporters in this Northern city of Algeria and elsewhere have rallied behind the Lions to cheer them to victory.


The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon are much at home in Oran during this seventh edition of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022). Supporters in this Northern city of Algeria and elsewhere have rallied behind the Lions to cheer them to victory. Many could not believe there are Cameroonian fans in the area until they see them supporting the team. During the Intermediate Lions first game on January 16, 2023 against Congo, a huge crowd of Cameroonian fans filled the grandstands in the Olympic Stadium in Oran to encourage the Lions with song and dance. They were proud of being Cameroonians especially with the victory of the Intermediate Lions. 
For next Tuesday’s match against Niger, Cameroonian supporters in Oran are preparing to throw their weight on the Intermediate Lions and cheer them to victory. The head of the Cameroonian Community in Oran, Adrien Fotso said the motivation of Cameroonians towards their team is grandiose. He said since the arrival of the Intermediate Lions in Oran, Cameroonians organised themselves in small groups. He explained that there is the organization called COCAM in the different cities like Algiers, Annaba, Oran for instance. So, when there is such an event Cameroonians come together and first of all sensitise their compatriots that their brothers are coming to the country and then see how they can give them a warm welcome.
