CHAN 2022 : Algerian Fans Behind Their Team

The Desert Foxes A’ of Algeria qualified for the final of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022) after thrashing Niger 5-0 in the semifinals match that took place at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran on Tuesday January 31, 2023. It is the first time the Desert Foxes of Algeria are reaching the final of the competition. The brilliant qualification has been received with joy and celebration among fans in Algeria. 
In Oran, fans from all the corners of Algeria traveled to the city to cheer their team to victory. Over 100 journalists from Algeria and elsewhere covered the event. Prior to the match, supporters queued at the entrance to the stadium to get their tickets early in order not to miss any part of the encounter. The support was visible given the massive turnout of the public in Oran. Over 30,000 spectators watched the encounter. At the end of the match, supporters jubilated in the streets especially in the Beji neighbourhood not far from the stadium, singing and dancing in praise. The story was the same in the city centre where celebrations were going on especially for those who watched the match in snacks, business places and at home. A huge delegation of fans was at the Sheraton Hotel in Oran to celebrate with the teams with dance groups.
