Madjid Bougherra- Pape Thiaw : One Trophy, Two Coaches

Madjid Bougherra’s Algeria and Pape Thiaw’s Senegal meet in the final of the 2022 African Nations Championship this Saturday February 4, 2023, at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Algiers. The two trainers are currently mapping out strategies looking at the lapses and strengths of their opponents. For Bougherra and Thiaw, the objective is to be the golden generation that will clinch the first crown for the different sides.
Madjid Bougherra, has already helped Algeria to better their fourth place finish in 2011 and is now eying the trophy. There are not many things for a national team coach more than leading your team to victory at a major tournament in front of very passionate fans. Bougherra joined the Algerian local team in 2020, won the FIFA Arab Cup in December 2021 and will want to continue adding fame to his coaching career. The former international, who played as central defender is known for his very ambitious and straightforward approach.
