Basketball World Cup Qualifiers : Lions Begin Window 6 Today

Even though picking a ticket for the competition is no longer possible, the Cameroonians will be using the matches programmed this weekend to boost their skills at the international level.

Cameroon’s chances of qualifying for the 2023 FIBA Basketball championship were foiled when they finished sixth and last in Group F with 11 points (nine matches played, two wins and seven defeats since the start of the qualifiers). The country will thus be seeking to tap more international experience in the last window of the African qualifiers billed for this weekend in Egypt. A roster of fifteen players was made public recently for this mission and a first consignment, according to reports from the Cameroon Basketball Federation, arrived Alexandria, Egypt on February 20, 2023. They include; Franck Yangue, Roger Moute, Samir Gbetkom, Fabien Ateba, Roland Nyama and some staff members. Reports add that, Bertrand Awana, Jeremiah Hill, Charles Minlend Jr. Arnold Kome and Benoit Mbala arrived in the morning of February 21, 2023 and the remaining squad was announced to join the team that evening.
