Marrakech Int’l Para Athletics Meeting : Cameroon Bags Five Medals

Cameroon put up an encouraging performance at the 2023 International Para Athletics Meeting in Marrakech, Morocco. Represented by three visually-impaired athletes, the country harvested a total of five medals, two in gold and three in bronze in the competition which ran from March 9-12, 2023. Luc Yomby obtained gold in Shot Put F11 with a performance of 9m97. This puts him above the Minimum Qualification Standards to participate in the next World Para Athletics Championships and the Paralympic Games. The athlete equally obtained a bronze medal in the Discus Throw F11 with a performance of 20m.
Ndim Clement obtained gold in Discus Throw F11 with a performance of 28m77 but could not reach the Minimum Qualification Standards fixed at 29m. In Shot put, the athlete realised a performance of 9m64 and obtained a bronze medal. He equally obtained the Minimum Qualification Standards for the World Championships and Paralympic Games in this discipline.
