“We Have Difficulties Training In The Four Stadia In Limbe”

Mr. President what is the state of your team this time around?
Victoria United alias OPOPO is heading our local Elite Two championship. We are ahead of the second behind us with seven points. To make our players and coaches comfortable, I am starting a 25-room apartment for players and 10 apartments for coaches. By the end of this season, the project shall have finished. I have another project to build a stadium for Victoria United. The project will cost me some CFA 400 million. For now I take my team right up to Bonjongo near Limbe for training because we have no access to the existing four stadiums in Limbe due to the cost. They bill us too high to be able to train our team in the existing stadia in Limbe regularly. In the next one and half year I will realise a synthetic stadium in Limbe for Victoria United so we can have our training without difficulties. Victoria United is affiliated to FECAFOOT and FECAFOOT has given us subsidies now up to 50 percent. We have good players who can deliver the goods. I have been in football for the past 25 years.

What are your ambitions?
I promised my fans that we were going to make it to the African champions’ league. I will keep to my promise. It has not been easy, anyway. I took the team from the Regional league and qualified the team for the Elite Two. We are now working very hard to go higher and we are eying the African champion’s league trophy.  I am betting all my money to enable this team gain the prominence it deserves.
