Luanda African Judo Open : Cameroon Wins Seven Medals

The 2023 Luanda African Open ended in Luanda, Angola, on Sunday April 9, 2023.


Cameroonian athletes bagged home two gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the 2023 Luanda African Open that ended in Luanda, Angola, on Sunday April 9, 2023. Organised by the African Judo Union (AJU), the competition brought together 162 judokas from 14 countries in Africa and Europe. The competition unfolded in the junior and senior categories. 
Five athletes represented Cameroon in the competition. They are Djengue Moune georgika wesly -78kg, Biami Zita Ornella -70kg, Etoua Biock Audrey Jeannette - 63kg, Baba Matia Marie Céline -52kg and Kom Teddy Enzy -73kg. The Cameroonian delegation also included the coach of the national junior team and the Me Amayene Biyaka Philippe Roger as well as the President of FECAJUDO, Alain Christian Kingue Dihang in the post of Head Sports Director of African Judo Union.
Cameroonian athletes put up remarkable performances in the competition. In the junior category, Baba0 Matia Marie Céline won gold in the women’s 52kg fight. In the men’s competition, Kom Teddy Enzy (-73kg) won bronze. In the senior category, five Cameroonian athletes harvested five medals. Djengue Moune georgika wesly (-78kg) won...
