U17 AFCON Preps : Cadet Lions Expected In Tunisia

The group leaves the country early this Monday April 17, 2023 for Tunisia where they are fine-tuning their skills.

Two weeks to the kick off of the 2023 edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup in Algeria, the Cadet Lions of Cameroon have intensified their preparations. The team is expected in Tunisia where they will fine-tune their skills ahead of the competition. The group was expected to leave the country early this Monday April 17, 2023 at 2:00 a.m. for Tunisia via the Yaounde Nsimalen Airport. The team will have a ten-day training session in Tunisia before heading for Algeria for the AFCON. During their stay in Tunisia, the Cadet Lions will play three friendly matches with some teams in Tunisia. It will be an opportunity for the technical bench to evaluate the level of preparedness of the players before the tournament in Algeria. Prior to their departure, the Lions trained at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo near Yaounde. The group trained twice a day under the supervision of the team’s technical staff headed by Serge Mimpo in the absence of the head coach, Jean Pierre Fiala Fiala. The technical staff has been reinforced by Coach Bertin Ebwelle of the U15 national team. During the training camp, the U17 Lions played three friendly matches with some youth teams in the country. In four friendly games, the Lions have registered four victories. The Cadet Lions beat Vision Foot Association of Yaounde 1-0 in their last friendly match that took place on Saturday April 15, 2023.
