National Youth Football Championship : Effective Resumption

After the launch of the 2022-2023 season in Douala this February, the championship experienced a break but has resumed with Day 1 matches played over the weekend

Young footballers aspiring to make a living out of the sports have a reason to smile after the National Youth Football Championships resumed over the weekend. Day 1 matches of both the U-15 and the U-17 categories of the 2022-2023 season were played in some cities of the country between April 15 and 16, 2023. The matches marked the resumption of the championship that has been on hold for over two months. It should be recalled that the National Youth Championship was launched in Douala on February 4, 2023 in the presence of the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o but its unfolding became a nightmare as matches were not being played across the country. Stakeholders explain that it was due to the resistance of some clubs to adhere to the introduction of the National Identity Card as one of the elements of the player's license file.
