IMBGIM Fighting Championship : Cameroon Grabs Eight Victories

A total of eight countries from Africa participated in the competition that took place in Yaounde on Saturday April 22, 2023.

The Mfandena Gymnasium in Yaounde was exceptionally busy last Saturday April 22, 2023. The event was the 16th edition of the IMBGIM Championship. Organised by the National Mixed League under the auspices of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, the competition brought together 34 athletes from eight countries on the continent, They are Algeria, Egypt, DR Congo, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Kenya and host Cameroon. The competition unfolded in the amateurs and the professional competitions. A total of 17 fights (five amateurs and 12 professional fights) were on programme. It was another opportunity for the inhabitants of Yaounde to discover new techniques in the sport and for other young aspirants to develop interest in mixed martial arts. Out of 12 professional fights, Cameroon emerged victorious in eight. In the -120kg fight, Cameroon’s Etoundi Moïse beat Yon Johnathan equally from Cameroon through a technical knockout at the fourth minute of the first round. In the 83kg category, Muluh Isaac (Cameroon) over powdered Mohamed Ali (Algeria) through knockout barely one minute into the first round. In the -77kg Kamgang Valentin (Cameroon) was the winner after Ossiassoura Jutste of (Gabon) abandoned the fight in the second round.
