International Cycling Tour of Benin : Kamzong Abossolo Makes Cameroon Proud

The cyclists from the national cycling team and the SNH Velo Club finished on the third spot with 18” behind the winner.

The 18th edition of the International Cyling Tour of Benin ended on Saturday May 6, 2023 with the fifth and last stage that took place along the Sèhouè-Cotonou highway over a distance of 124.71km. The fifth stage was won by Algeria’s Yacine Hamza. That was the third victory for Hamza in the race after he won the second and the third laps. Cameroon was represented in the competition by the national cycling team made up of six athletes from the SNH Velo Club based in Yaounde. 
In the general classification at the end of the race, Morocco’s Ed-Doghmy Aschraf won the yellow jersey followed by Algeria’s Hamza Yacine. Ed-Doghmy enabled Morocco to win the Tour of Benin for the first time. He won the yellow jersey and equally the doted jersey with a time of 16h34’10 on the 663.63km covered over the whole race. Cameroon’s Clovis Kamzong Abossolo of the national cycling team and the SNH Velo Club finished on the third spot with 18” behind the winner. Kuere Nounawe Rodrigue Eric of Cameroon won the fourth lap of the competition. Other four Cameroonian cyclists finished among the first 26 out of the 50 cyclists that participated in the competition.
