Kribi-Douala : Kamzong Abossolo Shines

The cyclist finished best Cameroonian on general classification after the 160.3 km fourth lap yesterday. He is 1’16” away from the yellow jersey worn by Morocco’s El Kouraji Mohcine.

The International Cycling Tour of Cameroon is progressing at the speed of light. Just like in the third lap on June 6, 2023, the 160.3km fourth lap between Kribi and Douala yesterday June 7, 2023 was very competitive and produced more surprises as yesterday’s stage was won by Morocco’s El Arbaoui Adil. The fourth lap of yesterday meant the eight-lap competition was half way gone.
Cameroonians participation in the race are equally taking the bull by the horn. Hope dawned on the country when Clovis Kamzong Abossolo of SNH Velo Club, one of the best cyclists in the country, occupied the fourth position on the general classification after the fourth lap between Kribi and Douala in a cumulated time of 11h52’24”. The fourth position enabled him to wear the blue jersey of the best Cameroonian on the general classification. He replaces Rodrigue Eric Nounawe that wore the jersey after the third lap from Edea-Kribi. 
The Kribi-Douala lap was the longest of this cycling tour and Abossolo who has a mastery of the countries roads shined. The athlete of SNH velo club is 1’16” away from the yellow jersey won by Morocco’s El Kouraji Mohcine. The yellow jersey thus changed shoulders once more from Martigues Sport’s Martin Marinov.
