International AudiovVisual Fair : Embracing New Challenges

Through debates and conferences, actors in the audio-visual landscape have been discussing ways on improving the sector.
Under the theme: “Audiovisual in Africa: Between Stakes and Players. What Strategies and Synergies for a Competitive Audiovisual Africa in the Digital Age”, the first-ever international audiovisual fair in Cameroon opened in Douala on June 17, 2023. The fair is an opportunity to brainstorm on the major issues facing the audiovisual industry on the African continent, at a time of competition from new media offering multiple value-added services, and the need to integrate digital technologies.
The fair gives stakeholders the opportunity to examine the progress of the audiovisual landscape and how to tackle future challenges. Through various activities such as exhibitions, debates, and presentations of audiovisual professionals, the fair, known by its French Acronym as SINAC, is a veritable platform for audiovisual media practitioners to contribute to the evolution of the sector which is undergoing major developments.
Against this backdrop, the Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, after the official opening, took time off to visit the different exhibition stands at the event. At each stand, exhibitors were ready to give information and explanation where possible. He used the opportunity to congratulate the organizers. And he called on stakeholders to use the fair as an ideal platform for exchanges between practitioners on the future of the sub-sector in Africa.
