AFCON 2023 Qualifiers : Angola Suffocates Central African Republic

The game counting for match day five of the qualifiers played June 17, 2023 at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, ended 2-1 in four of Angola.

Angola has won the Central African Republic by 2-1 to move to the second spot in Group E of the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifiers. Goals from Kialonda Gasper and Milson for Angola were enough for Angola to grab all three points and place Angola on a better position for the qualifiers despite a first-half equalizer from Geoffrey Kondogbia of Central Africa Republic.
Played at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, the Central African Republic needed a win to secure their first-ever AFCON participation ticket. The President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra was amongst the thousands of spectators who watched the match at the Douala Bepanda Reunification Stadium.
Kialonda Gasper opened scores for Angola at the 12th minute of the match and Angola was able to maintain the lead till the end of the first half.
