Nanbudo CEMAC Tournament : Cameroon Grabs 15 Gold Medals

The athletes won 20 medals; 15 gold, three silver and one bronze in the competition that ended on Sunday July 2, 2023 in Yaounde.

It was a happy ending at the fourth edition of the International Nanbudo tournament called “CEMAC Cup” that ended at the Mfandena Gymnasium on Sunday July 2, 2023. The national anthem was played several times with the flag of Cameroon flying high showing Cameroon’s superiority in Nanbudo on the continent. Orgnaised by the Cameroon Nanbudo Federation under the auspices of the African Nanbudo Confederation (ANC) and the Worldwide Nanbudo Federation, the competition brought together athletes from five countries in the Central African Region. They are Chad, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Cameroon and Burundi. Burundi was included in the group of participating teams as invitees. The athletes competed in several Nanbudo categories. 
The competition was an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of unity and solidarity that characterizes the CEMAC region. After two days of intense competition, Cameroon emerged champions; winning a total of 20 medals; 15 gold, three silver and one bronze. Burundi was second with 20 medals; four gold, 12 silver and four bronze. The Central African Republic was third with eight medals; one gold, four silver and three bronze. Chad was fourth with one silver and 12 bronze medals. Equatorial Guinea was last on the table with zero medal. Even though Equatorial Guinea did not win any medal they were awarded the Fair Play trophy.
