Cricket Cup of Cameroon : Academy Club, Western Ladies Lift Trophies

 
It was an exceptional day at the Lycée Général Leclerc campus on Saturday July 22, 2023. The event was the finals of the 2023 combined Cricket Domestic League and Cup of Cameroon finals. Organised by the Cameroon Cricket Federation (FECACRICKET), the competition brought together teams from across the country. The competition unfolded in the men’s and women’s categories.  It was another opportunity for inhabitants of Yaounde and its environs to discover new techniques in the sport. It was also an opportunity to detect talents. 
In the men’s final, Academy Cricket Club of Douala thrashed Kop Pioneer Cricket Club of Yaounde 129-61 runs in a thrilling encounter. Academy Cricket Club of Douala won the trophy for the second consecutive time. In the women’s competition, Western Ladies Cricket Club of Dschang beat Academy Cricket Club of Douala 67-66 runs to lift the trophy. Prizes were awarded to the winners and also to players who distinguished themselves in the competition. The trophy for the best female player went to Abui Mbida Manuela of Academy Cricket Club of Douala and Nseke Toube Brouna got the trophy for the best male tournament. The trophy for the woman of the match went to Brenda Walouma and Veron Fortune of Academy Cricket Club of Douala won the trophy for the men’s man of the match.
