National Civic Service Agency : Conscripts Drilled On Fighting Hate Speech

The 10th batch was graduated in Tiko where over 1500 conscripts have been trained since inception in 2013.

Conscripts of the National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development (NCAPD) in the South West Region have completed a one month training at Christ The King College, Tiko on Wednesday August 23, 2023. In a sketch that invoked tears and sorrow from participants, they painted a pathetic state of affairs triggered by the upheavals in the North West and South West Regions. The horrendous picture showed how girls have been raped, learners pushed out of school and have steadily embraced drug abuse leading to other vices. In tears, the conscripts called on everyone to effect a total return to normalcy in these two regions. The sketch which provoked sad but real memories was among presentations such as cultural animation, military parade and newscast by the conscripts.
The 2023 conscripts moved to 150 from the previous 100. The exercise was performed for the 10th time since inception in 2013. The first batch was trained at Mutengene Police College in 2013 and the rest of the batches trained at Christ the King College Tiko. The conscripts, all Cameroonians, were between the ages of 17 and 21. The training started on July 25, 2023.
Rose Namondo Esembe, South West Regional Chief of NCAPD, indicated that the training was aimed at strengthening the national and patriotic spirit of the conscripts. It was also an opportunity whereby conscripts showcased their hidden talents and knowledge through various activities and modus. Core values of civic, moral and patriotic values were inculcated on the conscripts. Esembe said these values will develop responsible behavior.
