Ebonji Holiday Championship : From A War Zone To A Peace Zone

A competition to mark the return to peace in the Kupe Muanenguba Division took place in Ebonji in the Tombel Subdivision recently.

The population of Ebonji, Ebul and Ehom in the Tombel Subdivision of the Kupe Muanenguba Division have celebrated the return to peace and serenity in their community through a holiday football championship. Organised by an Elite of the area, Professor George Ewane Ngide, Technical Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic, the competition brought together teams from the subdivision. 
Besides being a popular feast, it was also occasion for the traditional authorities, villages, sons and daughters of the area to say thank you to their illustrious son for the many development projects in the community. The Ahon Sacred Society, the greatest traditional society in the Bakossi land, custodians of peace and harmony, hailed Pr. George Ewane for his steadfastness and sacrifices in bringing peace to the community.
Speaking shortly before the finals, the chiefs, on behalf of the population thanked Prof. Ewane for putting a smile on the faces of the population and for donating the unity cup to grace the holidays.
