Developing Fisheries Sector : Stakeholders Brainstorm

This was during the 35th ordinary board meeting of the Artisanal Maritime Fisheries Development Authority, Midepecam, on August 25, 2023 in Douala.

Stakeholders in the development of the fisheries sector have been brainstorming on better ways to meet up with the demand in the market. It is on record that Cameroon consumes about 70 percent of fisheries and its products and the Cameroon government has been doing its best to change the situation reasons why structures have been created to improve the sector. One of such is the Artisanal Maritime Fisheries Development Authority, Midepecam, which has as mission the construction and equipment of fishing infrastructures, supply and maintenance of fishing equipment, packaging and distribution of catches, supply of fishermen just to name a few.
In effect, the board members of Midepecam held their 35th ordinary board of directors meeting in Douala on August 25, 2023. During the meeting, the members examined the execution of the resolutions of the 34th ordinary session of the board of directors, the Performance Plan and Budget Implementation Report for the 2022 financial year, the balance sheet for the year ended December 31, 2022 and the mid-term report on the execution of the budget for the 2023 financial year. At the end of the meeting, the board of directors adopted the report on the performance plan and budget for the fiscal year 2022, they also adopted the financial statements as well as the Balance Sheet for the year ended December 31, 2022.
