Burundi : Seeking For Top Seat

The Swallows of Burundi will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the last group C qualifiers on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua. The two teams will face each other in a crucial encounter and if one of the two teams wins the other will be automatically eliminated. To prepare for the AFCON qualifier against Cameroon, the coach Etienne Ndayiragije published the list of players to defend the colours of Burundi on August 31, 2023. The first group of players arrived in Douala on September 4 and the rest on September 5, 2023. The team chose Douala for their preparations in order to get used to the climate which is similar to that of Garoua. 
The team manager of the Swallows of Burundi, Constantine Metima said they are determined to stop the Indomitable Lions from qualifying for the AFCON on their own home soil. He said the technical bench and the players are well prepared and there are no health issues in the team. He said his players play in championships abroad and they have experience. The team will be hungry to make history in Cameroon. The Swallows of Burundi trained twice yesterday Thursday September 7, 2023 before leaving for Garoua today September 8, 2023 where they will continue with their preparations.
