2024 Paralympic Games : Three Athletes Obtain Minimum Standard

The Cameroonian flagbearers obtained their qualification during the Para-Athletics World Championships in Paris recently.


Cameroon’s para athlete, Arlette Mawe Fokoa has qualified for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. The athlete threw a distance of 9.38 in the (F57) shot put during the 2023 Para World Athletics Championship in Paris. With that result, she obtained the minimum standard performance for the Paralympic Games in Paris next year. After the victory, Arlette Fokoa said she will continue to work hard in order to improve on her classification. Arlette Mawe Fokoa (F57), Birmingham Commonwealth Games medallists, who is determined to make her nation proud. She equally won gold at the 2023 Francophonie Games in Kinshasa. She finished seventh in the 2023 Para-athletics World Championship in Paris. 
Batifi Loumou Yves Noé jumped a distance of 1.73m in high jump to obtain the minimum standard performance for the Paralympic Games. He also finished on the sixth position in the World Para-athletics championship in Paris and fourth in the 2023 Grand Prix Para-athletics Championship of Dubai. The third Cameroonian athlete, Wandji Ngono Loïc, jumped a distance of 5.38m in long jump to obtain the minimum standard performance to qualify for the Paralympic Games.
