FAP Basketball Club : Struggling To Stand

The Cameroonian outfit made remarkable performances in the first two editions of the BAL but is experiencing a downward trend with the recent two consecutive absences.

The Armed Forces and Police team better known by its French acronym as FAP dashed the hopes of Cameroonian fans when they failed to pick a ticket for the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL). This is the second consecutive time that the four-time champions of Cameroon are missing out in the final phase of this competition. This downward performance comes after their first two impressive outings in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the BAL.
In 2021, they finished in the quarterfinals and moved to 2022 to write a remarkable chapter in the history of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) by becoming the first club without automatic qualification to the BAL regular season to have reached the BAL Semi-finals.
But their recent performance in the qualifiers of the BAL did not live up to expectations. Pundits have raised several reasons amongst which the instability at the level of the administration and technical bench. Different head coaches have led FAP to different BAL competitions.
