U-20 Women’s World Cup : Cameroon Brightens Qualification Chances

The team overpowered Kenya 3-0 on November 11, 2023 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in the first leg third round qualifiers.

The U-20 women’s team of Cameroon is on a good footing as to what concerns making it to the fourth and last round of the U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. This is thanks to their 3-0 win against their peers of Kenya on Saturday November 11, 2023 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium. It was the first leg third round qualifiers to the global showpiece billed for next year in Colombia.
Three first half goals gave the advantage to the Cameroonian team. Felicia Enganemben of FC Ebolowa scored the opener at the 22nd minute of play and doubled at the 37th minute. During additional time of the first half, Naomi Eto’s goal made it three for Cameroon. 
In all, the U-20 women’s team of Cameroon presented a very promising picture as against their Kenyan opponents who seemingly came into the encounter with so much confidence. The Cameroonians showed a lot of discipline. They were technically stronger, rationally occupying the pitch and fluently passing the ball back and forth. They equally played well tactically, combining their individualities to produce an enthralling football match. Indeed, pundits said there are much more potentials in the team that Head Coach Hassan Balla is using wisely and hope it gets better.
