2026 World Cup Qualifiers : Lions Begin Camping Today

The training in Douala is ahead of the matches of the first two playing days against Mauritius and Libya on November 17 and 21, 2023 respectively.

After the group phase exit in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are very optimistic to qualify for the next global showpiece in 2026 and make a difference. It is against this backdrop that Coach Rigobert Song selected a 24-man squad to execute his mission in the first two playing days of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mauritius on November 17, 2023 at the Japoma Stadium in Douala and on November 21, 2023 against Libya in Benghazi.
In preparation ahead of this two matches, the Indomitable Lions begin camping today November 13, 2023 in Douala. Rally is billed at the Best Western Hotel. The team thus have less than five days to learn the strategies of Coach Rigobert Song and implement them to the later for favourable results in the game against Mauritius Island. It is equally time for the three new comers, Faris Pemi Moumbagna, Junior Tchamadeu and Léon Bell Bell, to get abreast with the spirit in the national team. According to the official programme, the training session on November 14, 2023 at the Japoma Annex A stadium is open to the public and the press.
