2025 AfroBasket Qualifiers : Lions In Group C

They were pooled alongside Senegal, the winner of the Zone 3 and 4 pre-qualification tournament and Rwanda in the draw which took place recently in South Africa.

 

The Basketball Lions of Cameroon now know their opponents in the qualifiers of the 2025 men’s FIBA AfroBasket Tournament. Cameroon is pooled in Group C alongside Senegal, the winner of the Zone 3 and 4 pre-qualification tournament and Rwanda. The draw to the qualifiers that will see 16 teams, joined by winners of the pre-qualification tournaments compete, was conducted on November 24, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa on the sidelines of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Elite 16 East Division.
Cameroon thus have a tough task ahead after being booted out in the group phase of 2021 edition of the AfroBasket Tournament in Kigali, Rwanda. Nonetheless, the team can brace up with a little confidence for beating basketball continental powerhouse, Senegal in the final of the Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Lagos, Nigeria to sail to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
