Boxing : Ngannou To Challenge Anthony Joshua

After the epic fight against Tyson Fury, the Cameroonian Boxer is expected to square off with the British fighter in a match tipped for this March in Saudi Arabia.


Former UFC heavyweight champion, Cameroon’s Francis Ngannou has another major boxing match on the books. This time around, the Cameroonian star is expected to square off with Anthony Joshua, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion. The match billed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is reported to take place this March. The date, March 9, 2024, has pooped in some reports.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, on Friday posted on X: “Tonight we confirm it’s a Done Deal! @anthonyjoshua v @francis_ngannou collide on a huge night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-press conference January 15, 2024 in London with full details dropping soon!”. In a post on Saturday January 6, 2024 on Facebook, Francis Ngannou said; “It’s not a breaking news but I’m just putting it out there as it is. See you in Riyadh @anthonyjoshua and let’s rumble”. The post was accompanied with a picture of Ngannou and Joshua.
It should be recalled that Ngannou, 37, made his pro boxing debut against Fury in October last year. Francis Ngannou lost on a split decision in the non-title fight, but almost delivered an upset when he dropped Fury to the canvas with a left hook. Following his loss to Fury, Ngannou was ranked number 10 in the heavyweight division by the World Boxing Council (WBC).
