African Men’s Handball Championship : Lions En Route To Egypt

The team is expected to leave the country for Cairo today Tuesday, January 16, 2024.


The national men’s handball team is expected in Egypt where they will take part in the 26th edition of the African Men’s Handball Championship. The team is expected to leave the country for Cairo today Tuesday, January 16, 2024. During the past one two months, the team has been training intensively in their hideout in Yaounde in order to ensure the best result. The team trained under the supervision of the head coach Bouchard Mengude. As part of their training, the national men’s handball team played several friendly matches with other clubs in the country to keep the players abreast with the competition. The matches enabled the coach to evaluate the skills of his players before heading for Cairo.  
Prior to their departure, the Lions received the blessings of the nation yesterday January 15, 2024 through their last training session on Cameroonian soil at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex before heading for Cairo. Sources close to the team say the group is in good shape, as Coach Placide Tagne's boys have only one desire that is to roar in front of their first opponents in the group who are Guinea, Congo and hosts, Egypt. As far as the organisation is concerned, FECAHAND has taken necessary measures to enable supporters feel one with their team. Shirts and polo shirts are already available from the federation at prices ranged between FCFA 10,000fr and FCFA 11,000.
