Media: African, Asian Journalists Begin Exchange Programme

The 2017 China-Africa, China-South Asia and China-South East Asia Press Centre programmes opened on March 1, 2017 in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

Some 41 journalists from Africa, South Asia and South East Asia have begun the 2017 media exchange programme with China. It was formally opened in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on March 1, 2017, in the presence of several diplomats, including His Excellency Martin Mpana, the Cameroonian Ambassador to China and Maurice Afana Sambo, the Cultural Counselor in the Embassy.

The participants include 29 journalists from 29 African nations and 15 others from South Asia and South East Asia. Speaking at the opening, Li Zhao Xing, the Head of the China Public Diplomacy Association, CPDA, organisers of the media exchange forum, lauded relations between China and participating countries. The former Chinese Foreign Minister and Representative to the United Nations recalled his fond memories of Cameroon and Africa in general, expressing hope for enhanced ties between the two sides.
