Tanzania-DR Congo : Tough Battle Ahead

Tanzania will take on the Democratic Republic of Congo today, January 24, 2024 in their third and last Group F game at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo.  Today’s encounter promises to be tough as each side will be seeking to better their chances of qualifying for the second round of the competition. There is all to play for in Group F, with three of the four teams still able to finish top of the group, and all four teams able to qualify for the knockout round. Morocco is on top of the classification table with four points. DR Congo has two points, Zambia two and Tanzania one point.
Tanzania still has chances of qualifying even though they will be playing the third day match with barely one point after two matches. Tanzania will need a first win at any AFCON tournament to jump up the table and make it out of the group. They have drawn two and lost six of their eight AFCON gamest. They did, however, take the lead in their second game on Sunday January 21, 2024 pulling a 1-1 draw with Zambia the third time they have ever gone ahead in an AFCON game.
