Bamenda : Youths Demonstrate Attachment To Patriotism

There was massive turn out and a thrilling march past and other activities at the Commercial Avenue Grandstand in Bamenda on February 11, 2024.

The youths of Bamenda, the capital city of the North West Region used the celebration of the 58th edition of the Youth Day on the theme, “Youth, import-substitution and economic patriotism for Cameroon’s development,” to demonstrate their attachment to peace, unity and development.
The massive turn out and active involvement of all and sundry in the event prompted the North West Regional Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique to declare to the press that, “the youths have shown the world that they have appropriated the celebration theme.” He used the occasion to appeal to the youths who are still in the bushes to come out and to those who are still dragging their feet to mobilize and harness the potentials of the nation towards emergence come 2035.
The ex-fighters of the Bamenda Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Centre who were among the first group to march past thanked the Head of State, President Paul Biya.  Pupils and students from primary and secondary schools in all the three Subdivisions in Bamenda thrilled the officials and the general population that filled the grandstand and its surroundings.
