Para Takwondo : Two Athletes Qualify For Paralympic Games

Dassi Antoinette and Chemogne Guilhène picked their qualification ticket during the just-ended continental qualifying tournament in Dakar, Senegal.

Cameroon will be present at the upcoming 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Two athletes Dassi Antionette -67kg and Chemogne Guilhène -47kg will represent the country in that competition. The two athletes picked their qualification ticket during the just-ended continental qualifying tournament in Dakar, Senegal. The athletes returned to the country on Monday, February 12, 2024. 
Reports say Dassi Antoinette, current African champion, won the final against a Moroccan athlete in the -67kg category with a clear score of 23-7. She equally beat an Egyptian in the semi-finals. Chemogne Guilhène also qualified for Paris 2024 in the -47kg category, winning a gold medal in the final against a Moroccan. Out of four athletes that represented Cameroon in the competition, Cameroon secured two places which is the first time FECATAEKWONDO is qualifying athletes for the Paralympic Games. Mvondo Cédric in the -80kg category was not classified, while Ananfack Idriss, who lost to a Senegalese athlete in the final however won silver in the +80kg category.
