Ndogbong Gas Explosion : Minister Visits Victims

The Minister of State Bello Bouba Maigari was in Douala yesterday, February 14, to encourage victims of the gas explosion that occurred in a hotel management professional school.
Victims of the gas cylinder explosion incident that occurred last Wednesday, February 7, in Douala, have been assured of the government’s support and care. The assurance was given by the Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari, on Wednesday, February 14 as he visited the victims. Be it at Hotel Lewat, where some of the discharged victims and their families converged, or at the Douala General Hospital, where some of the victims were still receiving treatment, Minister of State Bello Bouba Maigari assured the victims that the government was aware of the incident and was fully in charge to ensure that all the victims are well taken care of. He promised government suppor’st to the Hotel Management School in Ndogbong.
It should be recalled that following a gas bottle explosion at the hotel training institute (IPH) on Wednesday, February 7, in Ndogbong, Douala V, 18 students were injured with serious burns. The incident occurred while the students were preparing for practicals. The victims were rapidly taken to the Douala General Hospital for intensive medical care.
Hospital sources revealed that on the day of the incident, they received 18 victims out of which twelve were women and six men between 16-30 years. Among the 18 victims ...
